GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) invented by CompuServe (Columbus, Ohio) is one of the most practical ways to show animations in web pages.
The laboratory "Animated GIF" has been added to 3D Gugle, thus increasing business possibilities in the creation of ordinary and stereoscopic animation.
This laboratory can operate in conjunction with the other laboratories used for animations or movies, through the exchange of frames.
GIF animations can operate with a maximum of 256 colours so
before you create animations it is essential to convert the colours of the image sequences. In ordinary software used to create animated GIFs, the real time preview is not available because the process of colour reduction takes much time.
Ever since 3D Gugle first engaged in 3D stereoscopic applications it has not been possible to see the real appearance of images and for this reason we studied a very fast conversion algorithm which can also preserve the fundamental characteristics of colour, luminance and brightness.
To have the highest possible quality, the Animated
GIF lab always saves using a specific palette of colours for each frame.
This method obviously generates larger files than the standard GIF but generally
the bigger files can be reduced using the powerful and special LZW compression
method of 3D Gugle.
This method owned by 3D Gugle uses an extremely fast bidirectional compression
The lab contains a number of features with which you can manage the transparency of layers or create sub-animations but to prepare the animation it is still recommended you use other laboratories of 3D Gugle such as:
Save/Resize Batch Creates a reverse-sequence of frames for continuous cycling of animations
and many other utility functions.

Load
Frame(s)
With this menu you load normal images, 3D
Animated GIF, or 3D Gugle frames.
The loaded images are added immediately below the frame already selected in the list of frames.
The dialogue operates with multiple-selection
enabling you to open many files at the same time. The method used for
multi-selection is the same one used in Windows.
If required you can also load the same file multiple times.
When you load an animated GIF, the GIF is
automatically decomposed into a series of frames and added to the list.
If the GIF is loaded first, the screen assumes the same size of the opened GIF,
otherwise it inherits the properties and the size of the selected frame.
If you first open an image or an ordinary frame it is fitted into the screen
size, otherwise it inherits the properties of the selected frame.
Before inserting the frame it may be appropriate
to set the screen size, colours to be used and other parameters that will be
discussed later.
In any case, any parameter can be changed later at any time.
Load
Layer(s)
With this menu you upload layers, images,
animated GIFs or 3D Gugle frames.
The rules are the same described in "Load
Frame(s)".
The only difference is that the colour "black" is considered by 3D Gugle as a
transparent colour.
See the example below. The left image is opened as a "Layer" and the right image
is opened as a "Image".

Typically this method of loading is used when you work with a background image.
The ability to create visualizations is extended by being able to load both frames and layers in the same animation.
When you load an animated GIF as a layer (when this is possible) the background colour of the GIF is automatically replaced with the colour black.
To see an example of an animation that uses layers click here
:New
Project - Load Project - Save Project
The menu "New Project" is typically used
to clear all or to start a new project.
"New Project" does not erase the memory of "Copy" so that "Paste" can still be used any time.
"Load Project" is used to load a previously saved project and "Save Project" saves the current project.
When you save a project also saved are all files used. These may be exported and used on another computer without problems.
Save
animated GIF
Save all loaded frames as an animated GIF.
After writing to a file 3D Gugle will automatically verify the animation and if
the outcome is positive the message "GIF OK. will appear.
Before saving verify in the Frame informations box the existence of unused GIF transparency ("Use transparent" = True).

Unneeded GIF transparencies should be removed to significantly improve the compression work and the files will be smaller
GIF
Transparency
Be careful not to confuse the transparent GIF
with the transparencies of the Layers.
GIF transparencies are visible only in web pages while the transparent Layer is
used to overlay the images.

transparency:

To better understand the process, move the vertical scroll bar of your
browser.
The example uses an anaglyph created by the stereo artist:
Dr. Zsolnai-Nagy Imre
Save
Frames sequence
This menu item allows you to save all
frames in a sequence compatible with 3D Gugle.
Frames are saved in high definition (without the
conversion to 256 colours) and this allows you to use the frame for the creation
of movies, animated GIFs or other graphic use.
Frames are saved starting with the number "0" according to the conventions of 3D
Gugle.
BUTTONS OF SERVICE
On the top left of the screen there are 6
buttons that are designed to organise the projection sequence of the frames.

These buttons can operate on a single frame or
blocks of frames.
To select one or more frames click on the list and then use the mouse or keys
"Control", "Shift" or the buttons "Arrows" to add more selections.
The method used for the multi-selection is the same one used in Windows.
Below is an example of multiple selections. Areas in yellow are those selected.

You can also select a group of continuous frames by dragging the mouse on the list of thumbnails.
The buttons with the
Up-Down Arrows
These buttons move up or down by a single frame or a block of frames
DEL button
Delete a frame or a block.
To erase all frames use also "New Project" from the menu: "File".
Buttons Copy-Cut-Paste
These act like the usual Windows menus. "Paste" works even though you do not
have frames loaded on the screen.
Note
This series of buttons allow you to clone sequences or move blocks
SCREEN MANAGEMENT
To run the dialogue that changes the
screen settings press the button "Change",
situated immediately below the screen information panel.
The values of the screen settings are global. In other words, the settings will be applied to all Frames and also to those which will eventually be added later.
The settings can be changed at any time during the work.
The dialogue is also available if there are no frames loaded.

The scroll "
Frame" allows you to change a frame and see the preview of the new settings applied in different frames. To learn how to use the functionality of the scroll bar of 3D Gugle
see Common buttons and common functionalityThe scroll "
Screen Size" allows you to change the GIF screen size : "X" expands, "Y" stretches. The drop-down menu "
Colours" allows you to choose how many colours to use.
Decreasing the colours decreases the file size of the animated GIF but obviously the image quality will be poorer.
The "
back-colour" button changes the background colour of the GIF screen. The background colour has different behaviours depending on where you project the GIF. In web pages it will always be transparent and on the computer it will always be visible.
In the example below the red is used as background colour: left on your computer and right in a web page.

The check button "
Use BackImage" allows you to use an image as background and it shows the required management controls.

Button "
Load" loads the background image."
Stretch", centres the image and then stretches it proportionally in the GIF screen. In the image below is the background image as
"Stretch" (top), "Fill" and "Normal".

FRAME SETTINGS
To run the dialogue that changes the
settings of the frame, press the button "Change"
located just below the Frame Information Panel.

Each frame can have its own specific settings and this feature allows you to easily create sub-animations or different variants using the same group of frames.
The dialogue for the management of frames is available only after opening at least one frame.
The "
SET" button saves and applies the setting. "Exit" restores the previous settings and closes the dialog. The Scroll "
Frame" is used to select the frames.Button check "
Use Transparent" sets the selected frame as a GIF transparency.Button check "
Delay" sets the time pause of the selected frame. To see an example that uses a different delay in the same animation click here
"
Image stretch mode" lets you draw the frame in the preferred modality.

"
Stretch", draws the frame in proportion and centered on the GIF screen."Normal" is used when you have a background image
or to create special effects.
To see an example that uses a progressive zoom click here
"
Clone Frame data" uses three ways to clone the data of the selected frame into other frames.

"Clone
Next" Clone all data of the selected frame into the
following frame and select it.
"Clone All Next
Clone all data of the selected frame into all frames that follow.
"Clone All"
Clone all data of the selected frame into all frames of the project.
If you want to change a single option, for example the "Delay", while leaving other settings alone or to automatically create animations, you must use the function "Extra".
To activate the function "Extra" press the yellow button "Extra".

Before enabling the "Extra" functions, you must
set in the selected frame the value of the parameters that you want to change.
If you want to use "Extra" to create sub-animations you have to set the
parameters of “Start”.
The use of "Extra" is very simple. For example if
you want to change the delay of a group of frames without changing the other
previously set parameters, proceed as follows:
1) Set the new value of the delay and then press the button "Extra".
2) Select the radio button check "Delay" and, if selected, deselect the other
radio buttons.
3) Set the group of frames on which to operate in the double Spin "Apply
from / to".
4) Press the button "Apply".
In other words, "Extra" will operate only on the variables selected by the check-buttons without affecting other variables and using as reference the values of the selected frame set before pressing the "Extra" button.
The values of reference of the selected frames are
displayed in the panel "Reference data".
To learn how to use the features of the double Spin of 3D Gugle see
To make sub-automations using "Extra" is also very simple.
Suppose you want to create an animation using only
one frame, such as a text on a background image.
1) Load the image with the text using the menu "File \ Load Layer (s). We used
this:

2) Press the button "Change" to run the screen
settings dialogue.
3) Load a background image, fix the size of the GIF screen and then press "Set"
to apply.
Now you have to clone the layer by the number of times that you will need.
4) Select the layer press "Copy" and then "Paste", select all the layers, (two initially) then press "Copy" and "Paste", continue to reach the preferred number.
5) Press the button "Change" to run the settings dialogue of the frames.

7) Select with the Scroll "Frame" the frame zero, set the delay then press the button "Extra".
In the section "Extra" select "Delay" and then "Stretch" and "PX" (values that will be changed).
8) With the Scroll "px", set the increment in pixels to apply to each frame.
9) In the double spin "Increase + / - Step" set the start and end frame. Press "Apply" and then move the Scroll Frame to see the effect.
