(Frames from AVI)

This laboratory extracts a sequence of video frames,  clips or sound from an AVI movie.

The frames are the basic elements used in all 3D Gugle Movie Labs to create three-dimensional or normal film and animations.
This LAB works exclusively with the movie compressed with the AVI format. To extract frames from Web pages, Mpeg, DVD or other formats you must use the
"Capture Video/Audio" LAB.

The AVI format is a MS Window’s own format and it is recognizable by the extension: ".AVI"
The AVI format works with many types of compression including MPEG4-v1 and v2 and Xvid, DivX, etc.

To improve the work performed on the frames you can use the various 3D Gugle LABs.

AVI from Frames
to create AVI movie from the frames

Frames Utility
Resize, crop, insert logo/text, insert frames

Graphic operation on frames
Contrast, brightness, Daylight, Greyscale, Gamma, Sharpen, Add colour, saturate or deghost a single frame or group of frames

Save/Resize Batch
Batch resize a folder of images or frames using none, bilinear or high-quality bicubic interpolation and convert series of BMP images into frames that can be added to your Movie and invert the order of the frames when added to a normal-order of frames. This allows continuous cycling. Also encrypt/decrypt any type of file and to completely delete files with the function "TRUE Delete"

2D to 3D movie conversion
To convert a film to stereo pairs or anaglyph or apply deformations

Algorithms to Layers
To automatically create a new intermediate frames with many algorithms of transformatiom

Stereo Analysis
T
o automatically create the intermediate frames and dynamic effects by interpolation method

Layers Assembly
To assemble and manage the Layers to create animations

Write Lab
To write on images and to create Layers from text to add to your movie

Direct Layers
To extract the Layers from the images

Security Media Player
3D Gugle High-speed and quality playback of images/movies with 'software-only' method that does not compromise your privacy or security

Moviola Section (Video Editor)
This section operates as a perfect moviola with which it is possible to use all or only a part of the original movie, to duplicate the sequences, to change the order of the sequences, etc.

The extraction
programme consists of text-lines that each contains the starting and ending frame number and the total frames.
The programme lines can be moved in the projection hierarchy by using the specific buttons.

The extraction programme can be saved with the menu "File" and recalled at any time.
Saving the projection programme is not only important for allowing further work; it also provides the possibility of having different versions of the same film.

To create a new sequence line, the "Start" and "End" spinbuttons are used.

To insert the sequences of data in the Input Boxes you can use the keyboard or act with the mouse on the Spinbuttons.

Normally in Windows the "Enter" key is used for storing the data inserted with the keyboard. However for this type of 3D Gugle input-boxes the data is memorised by removing the mouse cursor from the input area.

Each Spinbutton has the ability to independently preview the frame that it moves. On moving the mouse on the spinbutton "Start" and "End" the frame of the Start or End sequence is displayed.

The input box is comprised of two boxes: the "Start" sequence (left) and the "End" sequence.

To insert a new line of data use the "Set" button.

To correct an existing line first you select the line and then use the "
Get" button.
The "
Get
" button copies the line in the "Input Boxes" and after the corrections you memorise by pressing "Set".

To delete the entire program of extraction, use the menu "Delete PGM List" in the "File" menu.

Normally when a line is added to the program of extraction it is in the condition of "insert".
In the "insert" condition when a new line is added the old line will be pushed below.

When the "Over" button is selected the new line is written above the selected one.

Next to the input boxes there are four small buttons, used to quickly insert data and to facilitate the job.

The Button "A" sets to zero the "Start" input Box
The Button "
B" copies in the "Start" Box the value of the "End" Box
The Button "
C" copies in the "End" the value of the "Start" Box
The Button "
D" sets in the "End" Box the number of frames of the opened movie.

The projection programme is a linear visual editor whose effect is immediately displayed by the dynamic preview.
The preview is available either for the entire projection programme or for just each line.
To see the preview of the whole film, use the "
Play" button and for the preview of a single line double-click on the line.

To hide/reveal the controls dialogue-box, click on the screen to toggle.

If the controls dialogue is hidden to see/stop the preview, use the "Enter" key and to zoom use the key "Z".

To hide the preview screen and the controls dialogue-box use the standard "minimise" button.

The preview image, when it is smaller than the whole screen, can be magnified using the button "Max".

If the original movie image is greater than the screen it is automatically reduced to the size of the screen. In this case the button "Max" becomes yellow and is inoperative.

If the button "Preview" is selected by acting on the Spinbuttons you can see directly the preview for each new frame.

To enter/exit in the section "Player" use the button with double arrows.

To activate this LAB from the menu: "Movie", select "Frames from AVI"

The first operation to perform is to open the AVI file from which you want to extract the sequence.
In menu: "File" select "
Open AVI" or "Open AVI with sound" if you want to operate also with sound.

"Frames from animated GIF" convert an animated GIF in 3D Gugle frames.
For further information about the animated GIF see "Animate GIF" LAB.

When the film is opened the Preview of the first frame will appear.

Before extracting the sequence it is necessary to prepare an extraction program.

To save or to load a program of extraction choose the "Save PGM" or "Load PGM" options from the "File" menu.

When the program of extraction is complete you have different save options.

1) To extract the frames you select the "Save Video Frames" option in the "File" menu.
When you select "Save Frames" a new dialog window will appear from which you will choose a directory in which to put the frames.
The sequence of frames is saved with the 3D Gugle compression format "*.gna”. See
"3D Gugle file formats".

2) To save a Video Clip with or without sound select "Save Clip (Video and Audio)" or "Save Clip Video".
Before saving a clip it is necessary to choose a video compressor; to select a compressor from the menu "Options", select "Video compression".
For further information about the compressors and for the use of the special preview images see:
  AVI from Frames

3) To save only the sound as a Wav file use "Save Clip Audio (Wav)".
Note
Saving only the audio, the format of compression is the same of the original movie.
To change the audio parameters or to recompress see "Recompress procedure"
