To activate this control from the menu: "Image" select "Luminance"
This
control allows you to modify the brightness but it doesn't operate as a normal
brightening function.
A normal
function of brightening decreases or increases all the numerical values of an
image while the luminance function acts only on the part of colours sensitive to the human eye.
For instance, if you decrease the
luminance level you remove the annoying dazzling colours of anaglyphs or
you decrease the effect from of retinal rivalries in anaglyphs or in stereo pairs
images.
When you use the "Luminance"
control your image is divided into three parts: one part is the luminance
component (Y), another part is the "red" chrominance
(Cr) and the last part is the "blue" chrominance
(Cb).

If you change the "Mode" you can see
the single different light component of your image.
If you use the scroll bars you change the value of the single light
component.
For anaglyphs the chrominances are an element of insuperable adjustment
because they allow you to attenuate the ghosts or to decrease-increase the total
depth.
The regulation of the red and the blue chrominances is indispensable for two important functions: 1) deghost action, 2) colour printer control.
To deghost you simply decrease the chrominances and to control the printer colours you use this procedure:

1) Save this image in "*.bmp" format and open the image just saved in 3D
Gugle.
2) In the menu "View" select "New Window". This new window
is a reference and it represents the
RGB colours.
3) Print the image displayed in the main screen with your printer.
To print select "File\Print".
4) Acting on the blue and
red
chrominances
increase the values.
Normally after printing the red and the blue colours appear less intense.
Repeat the same operation until you make a perfect correspondence
of the colours.
On completion
of this test remember the values that you have used because these values will be
always valid.
In other words when you have to print an image first you apply the values of the
Luminance control and then you print.
If your job has to be printed by your client you will save your
job in "*.png" format and you will send the job saved to your client.
If you print some anaglyphs remember that this procedure is obligatory because ,
"the
same anaglyph with different colours becomes another anaglyph".
