Undo/Redo

To activate Redo/Undo to select "File\Preference\Activate Undo Functions".

The "Undo" function used in many graphics software programs requires an enormous amount of memory and this memory is freed only after closing the applications

The functions Redo/Undo of 3D Gugle are not limited to a set number, do not require the use of RAM and do not decrease computer speed/performance
.

The In/Out process of the files is managed from 3D Gugle. For each new function applied to the image using the button. "OK", which is present in the various controls’ dialogues, the Undo memory is increased by one unit.

The management of Undo can be made in two ways: with the "Edit" menu or using the keys function from: Shift + F2 to Shift + F4.
The functions are the followings:

<< Undo FIRST from the menu "Edit" or Shift+F2 recall the first memory of Undo: in other words the original image.
>> Redo LAST from the menu "Edit" or Shift+F5 recall the last memory of Undo: that is the last performed work.
<< Undo from the menu "Edit" or Shift+F3 recall preceding memory.
>> Redo from the menu "Edit" or Shift+F4 recall the following memory.

The Undo memory is cleared and a new cycle restarted when "File/Open/image" or "Edit/Paste" is used.

When the Redo/Undo functions are not used it is a good thing to deactivate from the menu "File\Preference\Activate Undo Functions"

On opening a window of type "New Window" (menu "View\New Window" or using the button "Clone" normally present in the window dialogue) the screen image is recopied in the local memory of the "New Window" device.
The window has its own menu "Edit\Copy" to transfer the local memory to the Window’s clipboard.

For the operation in the memory see "Save/Recall/Free Memory".

Open Save configurable dialogue

The dialogue of Open/Save becomes visible when we save or open an image(s).

"Open/Save" works with the most modern methods of file management.
The dialogue memorises two directories; one is where the last file is saved and the second one is the directory is opened.

If you remember this simple principle you can operate quickly and without errors.

To load a single file select the file in the list and then "OK" or double click on the file name.
To load a series of files select the file with the same rule of Window’s multi-selection and then "OK".

Note
An image can be also open by dragging the name from Windows Explorer to the 3D Gugle window.
The files of 3d Gugle projects (Work) with extension "* .3dd" you can also open in direct way by dragging on the screen, or double clicking on the file name in Windows Explorer .
In the same way you can open all formats of 3D Gugle as "*.gna; *.ppm;*.sbc;*.gzp;*.huf;*.ggm;*.crp".
For further information on the graphic formats of 3D Gugle click here: Graphic formats
This function is not active in Window "Vista".

The files shown in the panel of files are the files with the extension selected from the "Extension" ListBox.
For example on selecting "*.jpg" from the panel of files, you see only the "*.jpg" files.

Selecting the extension "*. * Open/Save will show all the files contained in the directory.
If instead you select "*. jpg; *. jps; *. jpeg; *...... etc " all the openable images will be visible.

The buttons "Image Preview", "File Info", "No Preview".

Selecting "
Image Preview" and clicking on a image in the preview panel shows the preview.
You can resize preview panel by dragging the black edges with the mouse.
To quickly see a series of previews, for instance that of a sequence of frames, use the keys "
Arrow Up/Down
".

Selecting "File Info" you can see the information of the selected file and when is possible the "Exif" data.

"No Preview" hides the preview panel.

Clicking with the right button in the "files panel" or in the "directory panel" calls a context menu.
With this menu you can operate on the files with the same rule of Windows.

The dialogue of Open/Save you can customise or resize with the mouse.
With the mouse it is also possible to change the position of the
separation line between the "file panel" and the "directory panel".
See the image below.

Using the "Options" menu you can change the text style and the background colours.

The style remains always memorized.
To restore the default style, click on "
Default Style".

With the "View" menu you can determine the mode and the parameters of the file that you want to see.

On selecting "View Details" the menu will show other sub menus to allow you to determine the parameters of file to see.

Open Add and Paste Add

These functions add another image to the main image.

"Open Add" (Menu: "File") adds a new image from a file.
"Paste Add" (Menu "Edit") adds the image from the Windows clipboard.

On adding a new image all the functions of the "Box" become active.

With the "Box" functions you can move, cut out, apply transparencies to make mathematical operations, etc.

To complete the Add operations press "Enter".
The key "Esc" cancels the Add operations.

Open Add Layer and Paste Add Layer

"Paste Add Layer" is in the menu: "Edit" and "Open Add Layer" is in the menu: "File".

These two functions Add the Layers to the main image.

See also "Paste Add" and "Open Add".

To correctly and easily center on a determined point in the added Layer or images  you can use the "Auto Xor" method.

New Canvas and Resize Canvas

To activate "Create New" click on the menu "File\Create new".

"New Canvas" Create a new blank canvas filled with the background colour of your choice.

In the "gray boxes" you write the dimensions (in pixel or in millimeters) of the new graphic canvas.

With the "Back Colour" button you can choose the colour of the background.

"Resize Canvas" is the same as "New Canvas" but you increase the canvas size of the opened image as required.

In the example below the canvas of the opened image has been increased and the red colour is the background.

On pressing "OK" 3D Gugle activates all Box functions. With the Box you can move, resize or apply many trasformations.

To complete and memorise the resize action use "Enter" Key or "OK" in the right button context menu.
To cancel, use the key "
ESC" or "Deselect
" in the right mouse button.

Save, Recall, Free Memory

3D Gugle has high quality functions of Redo/Undo but has, in addition, the possibility of using additional graphic memory.
This memory is available with the commands "
Save Memory" and the corresponding "Load Memory" in the "Edit" menu.

To quickly recall the memory, use the combination of the keys "Ctlr + M"
The function "Save Memory" is normally used in the
"Combine Lab"

If the Memory is not used, free the computer resources, by using the menu "
Free Memory
"

Attention:
"Load memory" works immediately without requiring the saving of the opened image.

Save area Left and Save Area Right

These two functions are in the menu: "File"

With these functions you save only half (left or right) image.

This function is useful when it is desired to save independently the two stereo images that comprise a side by side stereo image.

This function serves for quickly creating and to save a miniature of the main image.
To save a miniature select from the menu "File" "Save Thumbnail"

The format to save (jpeg or gif) and the size of the miniature are memorized in the "preference memory".

To change the save setting from the menu "File" select "Preference" and then "Set Thumbnail Size"

Recent Files

The function allows recall the last used files.

This function is in the menu "File\Recent".

The recent files can also be recalled by the dialogue of
"Open Stereo Pairs" by clicking on the little white buttons.

To open use the button "Open" or double click on the file name.

3D Gugle memorises the last nine files,
